Our Mission
At Clearlake Oaks County Water District, we are committed to providing safe, high quality drinking water to our community, while maintaining a standard of excellence in customer service and environmental conservation.
In 1949 the state Legislature created a type of water district called a 'County Water District' under Water Code section 30000. There are approximately 165 County Water Districts in California and WE are one of them! A County Water District is an independent public agency, and is not related to or governed by counties. Clearlake Oaks County Water District has its own independent, elected board of directors, which is distinct from a county board of supervisors. We understand the term 'County' in our name may raise confusion but we are here to answer any questions you may have.
